How to Build an Exercise Routine

When life throws a curveball, it can be difficult to maintain a healthy daily routine: eating nutritious foods, taking supplements, taking time for prayer or meditation, and exercise.

For many of us, having an accountability buddy, or group of people, is a great way to start and maintain healthy habits over time. With ever changing restrictions on group sizes and exercise facilities, the last couple months have taken a hit on many of my clients’ exercise routines.

To help you stay on track, or start a new healthy routine, I asked Paige, Manager and Trainer at Core Progression (right down the hall from The Recovery Joint), to share some tips on creating good habits during this difficult time.

Hello! My name is Paige, Manager and Trainer at Core Progression in Lakewood. Now more than ever, it is important for us to create healthy routines, including exercise. With our health as a top priority, consistent exercise should be a focus as a factor for immunity support, reducing stress, and increasing overall wellness.

Even if it’s just 5 minutes a day, starting with a little exercise is always better than nothing. Once the habit is built, you can begin to add increments of 5 minutes, which will lead to a compound effect. Over time, this will have you feeling better and wanting more!
